Biography

Mitchell Seeyu who was born and raised in Hong Kong, mainly dwelled in Chinese painting as artistic practice. Recent years, she is dedicated to including Canadian landscapes, flower and bird species into her paintings. Her recent works was curated by Richmond Art Gallery which sponsored her solo exhibition with Carfac.   Worth noting is, her first solo in Canada was curated by Place des Art in Coquitlam in 2025.  Seeyu has held nine solo exhibitions in Hong Kong since 2016, most of them are sponsored by Hong Kong Arts Development Council.  And she received stipends in a few international artist residencies which located in different parts of Canada. 

Graduated from Chung Chi College, Chinese University of Hong Kong and garnered Master of Visual Arts in Baptist University of Hong Kong, she has worked in local major media as news reporter and editor. Commencing from 2008, Seeyu picked up Chinese ink painting under Lingnan school master Lam Wu Fui and studied landscape paintings under the contemporary master painter Mr. Leung Kiu Ting. The artist is dedicated to explore wider artistic perspective to portray a more beautiful World.
